The 12th Annual Benelkay Santa Gertrudis Bull Sale took place on-property on August 17.
Despite the challenges faced, the sale saw the presentation of 48 impressive bulls to a gathering of 65 attendees, both in-person and online bidders. The day’s proceedings yielded a mixture of successes and challenges, ultimately resulting in a 67% clearance rate.
In total, 32 out of the 48 bulls on offer found their new owners, contributing to a gross sales figure of $219,500. The average price per bull settled at $6,860.
The highest price achieved during the sale was attributed to Lot 14 – Benelkay Salvador S146 (PP), sold to Walmona Santa Gertrudis Stud of Coolah, New South Wales, for $14,000.
Lot 3, Benelkay Short-list S006 (PP), secured the distinction of being the second top-priced bull of the day. Displaying remarkable qualities, this bull was sold for $10,000 and was purchased by Strathmore Santa Gertrudis Stud, Blackall, Queensland.
