A Dunlop bred sire whose own sale-topping potential was thwarted through injury has rebounded in sensational style by producing the top-price bull of the Dunlop Santas sale at Jingeri, Proston, on Saturday.
Dunlop Sinbad, a ribbon winner at Beef 2018, produced 13 sons that featured in Saturday’s sale, with lot 12, Dunlop Yes-Sir U798 attracting the top-money of $36,000 from Rick Greenup, Greenup Eidsvold Station, Kumbia, Qld.
The 21-month-old poll bull with Oakdale, Talgai and Yarrawonga blood on the sire line and Greenup on the dam line, was $6000 above the second-top rice paid for lot 5, Dunlop Yamala, a Yulgilbar Premier son purchased by the Yulgilbar Santa Gertrudis stud, Baryulgil, NSW and lot 31, Dunlop Yellowstone U1188, a Red Mile son out of a Dunlop cow, purchased by Ken and Jackie, Knudsen, Chinchilla, Qld.
