A 23-month-old herd bull with Rosevale blood topped the sale, selling at lot 67 for $14,000 midway through the Santa Gertrudis portion of the catalogue to LR & DM Fairweather, The Crescent, Rolleston.
Broad Leaf Umpire U82 (P), a classified S product of Rosevale and Gyranda blood, led the Santa Gertrudis offering at lot 43 to attract the second-top money of $12,000 from Ray Brown, Banana, while the same price was paid by Karanga, Emerald for the following lot, Broad Leaf Ultimate U40, a classified S bull with Strathmore pedigree on his sire line.
The volume buyer was Redrock Grazing, Comet who purchased five bulls at an average of $4400.
