A complete clearance of 113 bulls was achieved at the 25th annual Strathmore Santa Gertrudis Stud on-property bull sale, held at Ravensbourne, Blackall, grossing $1,590,000.
The sale attracted widespread interest from across Queensland, evidenced by 75 bid cards lodged and strong competition throughout the catalogue.
Leading the sale was Strathmore Valentine V660 (P), purchased for $50,000 by John Howard of Burleigh Estates, Mountain View, Biloela, who secured the top-priced bull at Lot 22.
The second-highest price of $36,000 was paid for Strathmore V720 (Lot 27) by James and Sarah Pearson of Bull Creek, McKinlay.
The Pearsons plan to use the sire at their Blackall breeding block, Boorara, managed by their daughter Ella.
Their draft also included Strathmore Vantage V216 (P) at Lot 20 for $32,000, and Strathmore V852 at Lot 98 for $9000, reflecting their strategic investment in high-quality genetics.
Volume buying honours were shared between Greg New of Many Waters, Nebo, and Yandaburra Pastoral Co, Yoman, each securing seven bulls.
Greg New averaged $11,428, while Yandaburra Pastoral Co averaged $12,571.
