The Hague family’s Rockingham Santas in conjunction with invited vendor Denngal sold 47 bulls from 49 offered today at Euabalong West, NSW, averaging $14,365 and selling to a top of $75,000.

The gross total of $675,155 comprised the sale of seven bulls from eight offered by Denngal, recording an average of $7714.

The Rockingham draft, selling 40 bulls from 41 offered, produced an average of $15,475, while attracting the top-price and the second-top price bids from fierce competition.

A partnership between central west Queensland studs Swan Hill Cattle Company and Forest Park Santas, combined to secure the top sire of the sale at Lot 20 – Rockingham User (P), a son of Strathmore Quartz Q550 (P) out of a Rockingham cow – from underbidder Craig Hindle, Bullamakinka Santa Gertrudis.

The second top money of $50,000 was paid by Sylvia Kirkby, Warenda stud for Lot 24, Rockingham Ulysses (P), a Waco S136 (P) son oozing breed character and docility.

Santa Gertrudis stud masters, most travelling to the Rockingham selling complex west of Condobolin, NSW, dominated the buying, with Rockingham bulls bred by Phillip Hague and his son Dean, and Denngal bulls bred by Forbes father and son team Dennis and Greg Moxey, now destined for a wide spread of highly regarded seedstock operations including:

🐂Tom and Anna Dunlop, Munnabah Santa Gertrudis, Coolah, NSW – Lot 18, $16,000.

🐂Ben and Amanda Adams, Dangarfield Cattle Co. – Santa Gertrudis Breeders, Taroom, Qld – Lot 16, $6000.

🐂Brett Hatton, Santahat stud, Monto, Qld (via AuctionsPlus) – Lot 1, $28,000.

The volume buyer was David Russell, Budda Station Pastoral Co, Tilpa, NSW, who secured five head at a $14,000 average.

Australian Green Properties, Cobar, NSW was also active assembling four head at $7000 av.

The female portion of the sale catalogue also met strong demand, with all 153 Santa Gertrudis heifers selling at an average of $1833 per head. The top pen of station mated heifers sold to $1960.
