Murgona sale delivers 100% clearance, averaging $13,864 for Santa Gertrudis bulls

The Murgona Santa Gertrudis sale at Taroom Showgrounds achieved a full clearance of all 37 bulls offered, averaging $13,864 and peaking at $28,000.

Strong demand came from both local commercial producers and a major beef enterprise in north-west Queensland, with buyers targeting bulls to boost herd performance and weight gain.

Stud breeders Daniel and Kasey Phillips of Taroom presented a high-quality draft that drew consistent bidding throughout the catalogue. Steer fatteners led the charge, seeking fertile, reliable sires capable of producing growthy calves.
