A powerful draft of 109 bulls from 122 offered was snapped up by discerning buyers at the Belvedere Selling Complex, Eidsvold, hosted by Rick and Alice Greenup.
The sale achieved a gross of $1,461,500, with an impressive average of $13,408, a jump of $3137 from last year’s figure.
Top Price Bull: The sale opened with a bang as Lot 81, Greenup Apollo V222 (PP), was moved up the order and drew intense bidding.
He was ultimately knocked down for $120,000 to Andrew Bassingthwaighte, Yarrawonga Cattle Co Wallumbilla, via phone, edging out underbidder Ben Adams, Dangarfield Cattle Co. – Santa Gertrudis Breeders, Taroom.
Apollo’s price surpassed last year’s top-selling Santa Gertrudis bull by $5000 and marks the highest price paid for a Santa Gertrudis bull since 2023, when Yarrawonga was the seller.
