Dunlop Santas has posted one of its best sale results on record by selling all 114 lots offered on-property at Jingeri, Proston, Qld, grossing $2,112,000 for vendors Scott and Rebecca Dunlop and family.

Santa Gertrudis stud breeders and commercial producers bid competitively through the entire catalogue, with a buying partnership between Shane Hatton, Diamond H Santa Gertrudis Chinchilla and Andrew Bassingthwaighte, Yarrawonga Cattle Co, Wallumbilla, Qld snaring the first top price animal at lot 26, and Brett Hatton,  SANTAHAT Santa Gertrudis Monto, Qld securing the second at lot 29.

Chris Pezet, Ard Na Ree Santa Gertrudis stud, Charleville paid the second top money of $60,000 for lot 3, Dunlop Zavros V88 (P), a dark-hided, sleek coated 21-mo son of Dunlop Winchester (P) who had his first-release sons in the draft.

Lot 26, Dunlop Zeppelin V340 (PP) is a son of Valley View Luke 1546 (P), weighing 928 kg with a 1.36 ADG and expressing figures 15/12 fats, 143 EMA, 5.3 IMF and 41.5 scrotal.

Lot 29, Dunlop Zillmere V84 is another Winchester son and was the heaviest bull in the catalogue, weighing 1005 kg with an ADG of 1.48 and scans of 15/12 fats, 146 EMA, 5.8 IMF and 42.5 scrotal.

The volume buyer was Gordon and Sally West and family, of Westmoor Grazing, Roma who compiled an exceptional line of 23 head at an average of $16,695 – a total outlay of $384,000.

Other buyers assembling multiple lots included Ben Bodkin, Quilpie, who paid $94,000 for 9 head; RH Perrett, Rolleston, 5 head at $76,000; Spean Pastoral Co, Esk, 4 hd at $94,000; Waterfall Ag, Murgon, 4 hd at $72,000; Kindee Pastoral Co, 4 hd at $60,000; Basalt Grazing, Hughenden, 4 hd at $60,000 and Terry Jukes, Morven, 4 hd at $52,000.

Stud members purchasing new Dunlop sires included Andrew McArthur, Normanby Santa Gertrudis, Croftby, lot 4 at $20,000; Matt Sargood, Drensmaine Santa Gertrudis, Tambo, lot 6 at $28,000; the Bruggemann family, Triple S, Taroom lot 7 at $28,000; Liz Allen, Forest Park, Blackall, lot 8 at $37,500; Kilcock Santas, Deniliquin, NSW, lot 14 at $28,000 and young stud breeder, Georgia Kirkby, Waterloo, Bellata, NSW who secured lot 81 at $16,000.
