Fifty highly sought-after Dangarfield Cattle Co. – Santa Gertrudis Breeders bulls went under the hammer at the stud’s Kingswood bull depot in Taroom on Tuesday, achieving an impressive average of $14,160, delighting stud principals Ben and Amanda Adams.

Local producers Ken and Jackie Knudsen of Kilbeggan, Taroom, made a notable purchase, securing Lot 12, Dangarfield Hemi, for $40,000.
The horned son of Kilcock Kasper Q28 weighed in at 878 kg, boasting an EMA of 140 and fat scans of 9/6.
Bart and Tegan Wilkinson of Cassiopeia Cattle Company, with holdings in Clermont and north-west Queensland, travelled to Taroom to strengthen their Santa Gertrudis sire battery.
They emerged as the largest volume buyers, acquiring five bulls at an average of $22,400, including the second-highest priced animal.
Among their purchases was Lot 26, Dangarfield Hamilton (P), a son of Strathmore Street Boss S46 (PS) bought for $30,000.
Hamilton’s dam, a proven Dangarfield female with Canowindra, Red Mile, and Bullamakinka bloodlines, has produced three calves, one of which sold at a previous auction for $8000 to Eurambah Grazing Co, Eumamurrin, north of Roma.
Other key buyers included Richard and Kim Donner, Boxvale Cattle Company, Taroom: 4 bulls @ $12,500 average and GC and TE Nielson, Surat: 4 bulls @ $8250 average.
Selling agents: Nutrien and TopX Roma, with guest auctioneer Lincoln McKinlay calling the bids.
